Bought Rainbow E2 for special needs son advertised as "used less than one month." Unit failed upon first use vacuuming small condo. Several email exchanges with "Mary." She gives me an RMA, but it requires $166.00 in shipping costs! I am STILL, on the day I write this, within the 61-day window for "less than perfect" service that guarantees free returns and replacement / repair according to the website - but it is becoming obvious that my son will never have a working vacuum in exchange for the $1430.00 he paid to Great Vacs. Their words, their guarantee, means nothing.
I turned to Great Vacs so my son could have a unit like mine with which he is familiar. My very old E2 Rainbow is in better shape than the one shipped to my son and advertised as "used less than one month."
The last email exchange from "Mary" said she would talk with technicians at the warehouse to see if I could be allowed to take the unit to a local RexAir authorized Rainbow repair near me while the unit is still under warranty with Great Vacs! What is their warranty worth? How long does it take to get an answer from technicians in the warehouse? That was two days ago. I have heard zip, zero, nada. I am disgusted with Great Vacs. I have recommended them twice in the past, but will no longer do so.
Is it just Mary's lack of attentiveness? Maybe someone will see this review and have some decency. I hate thinking badly about others, but what choice do I have?
