"Why did we write this article? At GreatVacs we are the largest rebuild warehouse in the US. We have serviced and rebuilt over 50,000 high-end vacuums. We get asked all of the time "How To Clean Washable HEPA & Charcoal Filters!" so we decided to make this video and article for you. Enjoy :)"

Hey everyone it's Kyle from GreatVacs and I’m gonna show you how you can clean your vacuum or air purifiers charcoal and HEPA filters.

The filters I have on the table are from six-stage air purifiers and ozone generators.

HEPA filters are pretty nasty it says pretty much brown charcoal not too bad as you can see on the table there’s a bunch of dirt and debris.

I’m going to show you how you can vacuum and wash them to prolong your filter's life.

Vacuum both filters off and get away all that loose dirt and debris.

Go up and down the filters to remove loose certain debris make sure you do both sides to side and top.

Then wash the filters and get water between hot and warm once you get the right temperature just run underneath it and do a couple of passes on each side.

After you wash it a couple of times go ahead and shake all the excess water out and then wash it again. Depending on how dirty your filters are you may have to do a bunch of passes until the water is clear.

Once the water is clear and not to be dirty anymore shake the excess water off set it aside and grab your charcoal filter. Charcoal is not gonna be dirty since the HEPA filter will catch most of the dirt and debris.

And then when you are done washing the filter just set them outside and let them dry completely before you insert them into an air purifier or vacuum.

Let them dry for about 8 hours check on them every 2 hours and then when it’s completely dry you can go ahead and re-insert them into an air purifier or vacuum.

I hope it was helpful to you. We recommend replacing your filters every 6 months but if you use your product daily it’s a good idea to check them every 2 to 3 months to see the conditions there.
