How To Use Rainbow Vacuum Wands

A common question from Rainbow vacuum owners is: “What is the correct way to use Rainbow wands?” Sometimes people are vacuuming and the wands falls off, or sometimes they have them in the wrong order. In this video, Dustin goes over how to use your Rainbow wands correctly!

Important Safety Tips

  • Always make sure your machine is unplugged and the power button is turned off, before servicing your vacuum.
  • Always make sure your hands are dry and free from moisture before servicing your machine.
  • Be sure to wear gloves when servicing your machine to prevent any cuts or scrapes.
  • If you are uncomfortable working on your vacuum, please don’t hesitate to contact us at service@greatvacs.com and we can help you through the process or you can send it into us to fix it for you.

Instructions

There are two types of wand connections you may see in Rainbow vacuums - friction fit and button lock. The D3, D4, SE and SE Pan 2 models all use friction fit. You just take your wand, shove it in as far as it goes, and then twist to the right. It shouldn’t come off while your vacuuming, but if it does you probably haven’t twisted it hard enough. To remove it simply untwist!

The newer E style Rainbow vacuums use a button lock. The wands all just snap together. To release, just push the button and pull them apart. Fortunately, both style of wand will work on the E series machines!

You can use any of your tools, except the floor tool, without the wands. Floor tools need the wands to be attached in the correct order. You need to start with the curved wand that is at the end of the hose. If your hose didn’t come with it already attached, don’t worry! You can attach it my simply twisting and shoving at the same time.

Now attach the short, straight wand.

The attach the curved wand. You will notice that this wand has two bumps at one end.

Finally, attach the floor tool to the end with the bumps. Those bumps allow the floor tool to swivel. You're ready to vacuum!
